The School of Arts and Communication supports many student organizations and associations. These groups focus on areas such as game design, advertising, magazine writing, photography, public relations, journalism, international communications, and more.

Groups have informational meetings at the beginning of each semester. Students of all majors are welcome to attend and join.

With the presence of LIU-TV, students gain hands-on experience in filming and production, and also have the pleasure of watching news, movies, and music videos.

Established in 1931, the Seawanhaka is the campus newspaper that serves the university community as a source of local and national information and news, as well as a tool for journalism students.

The essence of LIU Brooklyn life is captured in Sound, the LIU Brooklyn yearbook, through student and faculty portraits as well as campus candid shots.

WLIU offers a dynamic entertainment and news program for LIU Brooklyn. Our studios are fully equipped and modernized to offer an excellent setting for training. The station also has a Mobile DJ unit that trains students, and plays for various on- and off-campus events.

Blackbirds Music Group is a full service record label powered by Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus. Distributed by The Orchard through a venture between Labels “Whatevaok” and “The TDC Group, Inc”. BBMG is operated by Major industry professionals and LIU Professors, President Tony Dofat and Vice-President kenyatta Beasley. The staff is comprised of hard working, dedicated students of LIU Brooklyn campus.
