Title of Project: The Smartphone as Epicenter for Distraction: Understanding the Rhetoric Behind Wireless Advertisements Using Adorno and What it Means to be “Left Behind”

 Inspiration Behind the Project:
This study will analyze, using Theodor W. Adorno, commercial advertisements from the three major wireless networks, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, to expose the rhetoric behind the ads content that preaches the idea of “not being left behind” in the digital age, and how constant exposure to these digital devices, provided by the said companies, is aiding to the loss of introspection and engagement leaving the human mind in a constant state of distraction.
