MA 703 Independent Study I (Theory)
Pre/co-requisite: MA 500
Offered every semester, 3 credits
Graduate Program Coordinator approval required. Student must first submit FORM 5: Independent Study (signed by appropriate parties) to be eligible to register for this course.
This course allows the student to complete a research paper to be arranged in close association with a Faculty Advisor.
MA 704 Independent Study II (Production)

MA 705 Fieldwork Experience (Internship)
Prerequisite: Completion of 18 credits of course work. Prior approval of Graduate Program Coordinator. Contact Internship Coordinator liumainterns@gmail.com for forms & procedures. ALLOW 4-5 MONTHS LEAD TIME BEFORE YOU REGISTER TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS.

As an alternative to a production course, students may undertake advanced fieldwork experience/Internship (approximately 10 hours per week) with a media organization or company. Under the guidance of the Media Arts Internship Coordinator and Graduate Program Coordinator students integrate newly learned skills in a professional environment. A written critique is the final project.
MA 711 Exhibiting Media Arts
Prerequisite: Completion of 30 credits of course work or permission of MFA Program Coordinator
Offered every spring: 3 credits
This is a seminar for students to study the theory and practice of the design techniques, tools and pre-production logistics for creating a successful exhibition media production – whether a hanging gallery exhibition, screening, installation, concert or reading.
